It’s hard to believe that just two weeks ago I was in the mindset of running 13.1 miles. Just after the race, someone told me I should take 13.1 days off from running…I wish they wouldn’t have said that. I haven’t run since, I’ve been careless with my diet, and I feel miserable! Simply having the goal of running 13.1 miles gave me something outside of work to accomplish. Running is an intensely personal affair for me, but I need it. I don’t feel as frustrated with work and I use the time to keep my mind organized. I know everyone runs for different reasons, but I never realized how personal those reasons can be. So the big question after every race…”you just ran 13.1 miles, what do you do now?” My answer, keep running and sign-up for the Disney World Princess Half Marathon in February.
